EJI September 2026 Police Oversight Report: ACJMC Reviews Detainee Cases Across Abuja Police Divisions

Equal Justice Initiative (EJI) together with The Administration of Criminal Justice Monitoring Committee (ACJMC), in collaboration with magistrates and other civil society organisations, conducted police oversight visits to several police divisions in Abuja during September 2026. The visits reviewed detainees’ cases, the allegations against them and the directives issued regarding their continued detention, release on bail, transfer for further investigation or arraignment in court.
